Hillside’s Boogie Night
Boogie Night is a family dance event. There's a DJ and the PE teachers spend time teaching some dances in school prior to Boogie Night; that way kids know how to dance when the DJ leads.
The final event of the night is the Hillside Staff Raffle. Every kid gets three tickets in school and they may place their tickets in up to three different prize jars (they do this during the day on specific dates). Winners are selected at the end of the night (you don't have to attend to win and you don't pay to participate). Faculty and staff provide the prizes.
Some of the proceeds from Boogie Night are donated to the Nisky NOW program.
Recap from a past Boogie Night event:
Hillside Rocked It Awesome 80’s Styleat Boogie Night! While the kids boogied the night away to some flashback hits from the 80’s, parents got to enjoy memories of 80’s fashion, TV, Movies and popular culture. Posters hung in the hallway with the dates of familiar sitcoms and movies and kids could be heard saying things like “Who’s the Boss? I never heard of that show. It must be OLD.”The costumes were great! (Even a few parents got “into the groove” (get that Madonna reference?)) The food was fun! And the DJ and prizes were “totally cool”.
