Family Reading Night

Hillside's First Annual
Family Reading Night
(event re-cap, photos and thanks!)
Our first Family Reading Night brought families with children of all ages to the school to delight in readings from Caldecott and Newbery Book Award winners (and other favorites).  Organized by PTO volunteers as a no-charge event, three reading rooms offered selections for different age groups.
It was such a successful night  that at the 7:30 closing time, children in one reading  room were heard chanting "one more book...one more book."  The kids actually cheered their way into 3 extra books! (who could say no to those faces?)
Family reading night also had a book themed bake sale, a used book sale, and a station for coloring bookmarks.

Thank you to our Readers:  Mrs. Ubriaco, Mr. Neely, Tammy Mills, and Mr. and Mrs. Felczak!!

We also thank all of the parents who baked or donated sweet treats.  Thanks to our wonderful custodial staff, Donn Armstrong, Karen Lasher and Brian Kent.  Finally, thanks to David Mills, Jacquie Gallo, Susan Polsinelli, Dr. Fasciglione and Mrs. Ubriaco for help with the event.
